My life story with AIESEC

How did AIESEC help me overcome my disability...

     I had always been looking for the purpose of life. Then, I understood that to live is actually to make an impact on the world, by leaving an achievement that could mark humanity.  In order to fulfill this purpose, I decided to join the associative life which, to my mind, would help me overcome my handicap. I know that it is not that big of a deal, but, i was highly aware of my disability. It has been so hard, yet very self-challenging ...  So, i needed to be busy, to focus on certain goals and to be a productive person.

I enrolled in ESSECT, where I first heard about AIESEC: the biggest youth international organization worldwide, whose main activity is to provide professional exchange opportunities. Besides, it develops the leadership role and teaches its members to make a positive impact on society. For that, I have joined AIESEC, and I have fallen in love with it. Through seminars made by the organization, I realized that I belong to a huge network, not only a national one but also, an international one. 

There are high local committees in Tunisia: in Tunis, Nabeul, Sousse and in Sfax . Since AIESEC is active in more than 110 countries, we get the opportunity to meet and mingle with people from all walks of life, with various nationalities and different races. We also get to be familiar with their traditions and their ways of thinking. We live diversity as we represent our countries.

We, in AIESEC, run also various projects. Our chief project in Tunisia is the Career Days in which we help students with the process of obtaining internships, usually offered by the participating companies. Then , we have the sustainability projects which, allow us to practice making a positive impact on society … the activities of AIESEC enlighten the path to professional and personal development. We learn how to run projects, how to negotiate with others, especially with companies, how to acquire communication skills and be dedicated to innovation. It also teaches us how to care about the humankind…

In brief, AIESEC prepares us to be leaders…; that’s what it does!

Last year, I wasn’t able be an active member because I went through a new treatment to help me with my sickness. Unfortunately, it wasn’t efficient.. 

That led me to conclude that maybe one shouldn’t try to fix what has already been broken, but rather, tries to focus on his talent and his assets ! One needs to move on...  I also realized that I have missed AIESEC; it’s been like a cure to me.

My career within AIESEC is still in its early beginnings. I am so excited to go aboard for an internship and to stamp my mark on AIESEC.

Tunisia is already on the top of the sold of sales in Go Voyages

From Monday, the sale of stays in Tunisia became again the destination n˚ 1 sold by Go Voyages.

Djebra and Hammamet have the favour of the travellers. According to Go Voyages “the phenomenon is explained in particular by numerous operations of promotions and the very attractive prices, from 300 Euro the week”. The real surprise, “dates of departure are very close between J+3 and J+10”.

France draws travelers' attention to improvement of security situation in Tunisia

 TUNIS, Feb. 12, 2011 (TAP) - The French Foreign Ministry drew attention to the improvement of the security situation in Tunisia.

In its "travel advice" posted on its website, the Ministry said, on Saturday, that "stays on the coastal areas and in the island of Djerba are no longer inadvisable."

It indicates, however, that "it is still not advisable to travel in inland regions."

The Ministry advises travellers "to be vigilant when they leave their hotels, avoid mixing with any kind of gathering and respect the curfew in force in the entire territory from midnight to 04:00 a.m."

Tunisia wins Europe over

TUNIS, Feb. 8, (TAP) - Tunisian youths' uprising has won Europe over, which might represent a support for the promotion of foreign direct investments in the near future, reckoned the delegates of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency FIPA in several European capitals. These delegates expressed indeed the following views to TAP news agency.

Brussels: Increased interest in cooperation

FIPA delegate in Brussels Abdelbasset Ghanmi said: "we have noted some liking in the media, a renewed confidence on the part of companies and care by foreign partners to further develop cooperation with Tunisia (European Commission, EIB, European Parliament…)".

The efforts here, he added, have focused these last weeks on raising awareness in business circles about the resumption of economic activities in Tunisia, with the assistance of the partners' network including Chambers of Commerce, Professional Associations and Journalists.

Paris: Investors optimistic but watchful

"The Tunisian Revolution has been followed up very carefully by key economic players and business circles in France which stressed the courage and exemplary maturity of the Tunisian people and noted the high level of Tunisia's educated and ambitious youths who managed to claim and get the ousting of former President Ben Ali in a very short time and in a very remarkable way ", affirmed FIPA General Delegate in France Ezzedine Jilliti.

"The investors believe that the establishment of a climate of freedom will provide more favourable conditions for business and a more transparent and more attractive environment and that democracy will be a strong bastion against risks " he added. The investors remain watchful, he said, without for all that sinking into pessimism.

FIPA Paris has planned for next March and April seminars in Lyon, Paris, Saint Etienne and Lille as well as other meetings for the second quarter, asides from specialized exhibits and attendance of professional exhibitions.

UK: Tunisia positively perceived by political and economic circles

FIPA Director in London Beligh Ben Soltane affirmed: "the last events in Tunisia have been very well perceived by political and economic circles in the United Kingdom for they mean more transparency and opening out onto foreign countries. As regards British investors operating in Tunisia, they have expressed support to this new democratic process underway in Tunisia". As to ventures underway, 4 British companies (electrical and electronics, plastic and textile) that had scheduled prospection visits for January and February 2011 , have postponed their visits to Tunisia without canceling them.

Spain: Tunisian uprising encouraging

Mrs Amina Mkada, Director of FIPA Madrid (Spain and Portugal) said that the Spaniards were very favourable to the Tunisian revolution and that most Spanish papers had quoted in their comments the high level of Tunisians' education and civilized behaviour in protests as well as Tunisia's advanced level in matters of ICTs.

"Our country is not in crisis. Tunisia is back in business "

DAVOS,Switzerland, Jan 30, 2011 (TAP) - "Our country is not in crisis . Tunisia is back in business " said in Davos Central Bank Governor Mustapha Kamel Nabli, affirming that banks are working as ususal .

The high-level delegation in Davos, including the Central Bank Governor, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Yassine Brahim and Secretary of State in charge of Communication Technologies Sami Zaoui, affirmed that the situation in Tunisia "is under control at economic level ".

The members of the delegation called on investors and tourists to come back to Tunisia saying "the situation is under control ".

The TCB governor said in this regard: "It is obvious that the situation is normal. The Tunisians have resumed work , the markets have re-opened and services are secured " , adding that the carrying on of protests "is a positive thing as part of democracy ".
